With the motto of engaging private sector for promoting sustainable FSM system, Bangladesh FSM Network organized the Fourth FSM Convention and Fourth Emptiers Convention during February 5-6, 2020 at the Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB) Auditorium, Dhaka. The FSM Convention focused on sectoral collaboration, technical advancement, institutional and regulatory mechanism, financial challenges and promotion of treated sludge. Fecal sludge management has been identified as one of the most crucial challenges for ensuring safe sanitation in Bangladesh. The government is committed to reach the SDG 6.2 sanitation target by 2030. Without achieving safely managed sanitation this goal will not be achieved. Learning and Knowledge Sharing on FSM & CWIS in India

In line with the initiatives like the Swachh Bharat Mission, Odisha, a state of India has become one of the pioneers to successfully run the FSM service chain throughout the state. To learn about the technical and management aspects of fecal sludge management a team of 24 delegates from Bangladesh visited Odisha during 2-6 December 2019. The team included officials from DPHE, paurashavas under 23 Towns project of DPHE and ITN-BUET.
