DESCRIPTION:About the Training\nThe “Training and Experiential Learning on Fecal Sludge Management in Cities: An Element of Citywide Inclusive Sanitation” targets engineers and officials from relevant agencies from the WASH sector. The training addresses both technical and non-technical aspects of FSM using lecture modules and interactive learning content. The training provides participants with a comprehensive framework for the FSM planning process. It highlights the importance of proper sanitation\, analyzes the contexts and necessity of including social and gender aspects\, and creates an enabling environment for preparing an FSM plan. \nObjectives\n\nUnderstand the Importance of FSM\nEquip participants with the skills to assess sanitation conditions\, including regulatory\, environmental and social aspects\nEnable participants to map stakeholders\, understand their roles\nRecognize the needs of vulnerable communities in sanitation planning\nEnable participants with knowledge of site selection\, collection\, transportation technologies and financial mechanisms\nProvide insights into Safety\, Capacity Building and Community Engagement\n\nWho Should Attend?\nThis course welcomes enrollment from a wide range of participants working in sanitation\, public health and environmental improvement\, including decision-makers\, city leaders\, Government officials\, academics\, practitioners\, researchers\, etc. \nCourse Outline\nThe course spans three days. It is specifically designed for professionals in sanitation\, public health\, water supply and environmental sectors from developing countries in Asia-Pacific and Africa. The course offers a dynamic learning experience through interactive sessions\, group work and exposure visits. SUMMARY:Training of Trainer (ToT) on Climate Resilient Water Safety Plan (CR-WSP)
DESCRIPTION:About the Training\nThe four-day Training of Trainers (ToT) on Climate Resilient Water Safety Plan (CR-WSP)\, including one day of field exposure\, is designed to develop a pool of master trainers capable of advancing CR-WSP implementation. This program equips participants with comprehensive knowledge and practical facilitation skills to assess climate risks\, formulate effective risk management strategies\, and ensure the safety and sustainability of water supply systems in the face of changing climate conditions. Upon completion\, participants will be prepared to serve as trainers and change agents\, promoting CR-WSP at local\, regional\, and national levels. \nProgram Date: 25-28 May 2025Venue: ITN-BUET \nObjectives\n\nUnderstand different types of hazards (physical\, chemical\, microbial\, etc.) that make water unsafe\nIdentify contamination risks at different stages (from catchment to consumer) of a water supply system\nRisk assessment of the water supply system and risk scoring/ranking following a sanitary inspection\nRecognize control measures (existing or planned) that prevent (or control) the hazards and develop improvement plans and effective operational monitoring plans to ensure water safety\nEnhance the knowledge and skills of water utility professionals and other stakeholders on CR-WSP to improve overall management of assets and the safety of the water supply systems\n\nWho Should Attend?\nThis course welcomes enrollment from a wide range of participants working in water\, sanitation\, public health and environmental improvement\, including decision-makers\, city leaders\, Government officials\, academics\, practitioners\, researchers\, etc. \nCourse Outline\nThe course spans four days.
