Workshop on Sector Development Plan (SDP) 2026-2040 for WASH

Local Government Division (LGD), Ministry of LGRD&C, has initiated the development of a new Sector Development Plan (SDP) for WASH in Bangladesh, spanning from 2026 to 2040. ITN-BUET, in collaboration with UNICEF, is providing technical assistance for the preparation of this new SDP. An inception workshop took place on September 4, 2023, at ITN-BUET, during which sector stakeholders shared their thoughts and ideas on the draft outline of the SDP. To advance this task, rigorous consultations with sector stakeholders on the strategic directions, guidelines, and actions for drafting the content of SDP 2026-2040 for WASH are imperative.
In this regard, a half-day Consultation Workshop is scheduled from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at the ITN-BUET Seminar Room (5th Floor, ARI-ITN Building, BUET). The purpose of this workshop is to brainstorm and identify requirements for the SDP.

- Expanding access to safe and affordable drinking water and sanitation facilities.
- Improving hygiene promotion.
- Advancing towards safely managed sanitation facilities.
- Establishing a Fecal Sludge Management System (FSM).
- Prioritizing Arsenic Mitigation.
