A three-day international training on WASH in Emergency Settings was held in Cox’s Bazar, bringing together 25 participants from Bangladesh, Nepal, and Indonesia.

The GSGS Faculty Meeting brought together partner universities from South and Southeast Asia in Cox’s Bazar to review program progress, share achievements and challenges, and plan curriculum updates.

ITN-BUET organized a Mentee City Exposure Visit to Kushtia Municipality on 17 August 2026. Sixteen officials from eight municipalities explored CWIS, sanitation, and waste management facilities, gaining practical insights through peer learning.

ITN-BUET trained 16 municipal officials from eight municipalities as potential master trainers through a residential CWIS workshop in Kushtia.

ITN-BUET and MAWTS signed a Strategic Partnership Agreement on 12 August 2026 in Dhaka to strengthen sanitation and waste management.

Prof. Dr. Mohammad Shariful Islam, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of BUET, inaugurated ITN-BUET’s four-day specialized training on “Planning and Design of Fecal Sludge Treatment Plant (FSTP)” on 27 July 2026. 15 WASH professionals from city corporations, paurashavas, universities and agencies joined this fourth cohort.

GSGS RH SSEA and ITB Indonesia successfully held the I-WASH Summer Course 2026 on “WASH in Emergency Settings.” 41 participants from seven regional institutions joined online and field training.

ITN-BUET and CIRS-NSU signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 21 July 2026 to strengthen collaboration in Bangladesh’s WASH sector. The partnership covers joint research, capacity building, knowledge exchange, professional training, and laboratory collaboration in water supply, sanitation, and environmental engineering.

ITN-BUET showcased Bangladesh’s Citywide Inclusive Sanitation journey at the 2nd IWA International Conference on Non-Sewered Sanitation Systems (ICNSS 2026) at IIT Palakkad, India. Project Manager Alauddin Ahmed joined a high-level panel on mainstreaming CWIS, sharing progress in policy development, municipal capacity building, and evidence-based sanitation planning across Bangladesh.

ITN-BUET has handed over South Asia’s first municipal-level CWIS Knowledge Corner to Faridpur Municipality under the CWIS Scaling and Innovation Project. The corner documents Faridpur’s sanitation journey, showcasing CWIS and FSM practices as a permanent learning platform.
