Training of Trainer (ToT) on Climate Resilient Water Safety Plan (CR-WSP)

May 25 @ 9:00 am - May 28 @ 5:00 pm UTC+6

About the Training

The four-day Training of Trainers (ToT) on Climate Resilient Water Safety Plan (CR-WSP), including one day of field exposure, is designed to develop a pool of master trainers capable of advancing CR-WSP implementation. This program equips participants with comprehensive knowledge and practical facilitation skills to assess climate risks, formulate effective risk management strategies, and ensure the safety and sustainability of water supply systems in the face of changing climate conditions. Upon completion, participants will be prepared to serve as trainers and change agents, promoting CR-WSP at local, regional, and national levels.

Program Date: 25-28 May 2025

Objectives

  • Understand different types of hazards (physical, chemical, microbial, etc.) that make water unsafe
  • Identify contamination risks at different stages (from catchment to consumer) of a water supply system
  • Risk assessment of the water supply system and risk scoring/ranking following a sanitary inspection
  • Recognize control measures (existing or planned) that prevent (or control) the hazards and develop improvement plans and effective operational monitoring plans to ensure water safety
  • Enhance the knowledge and skills of water utility professionals and other stakeholders on CR-WSP to improve overall management of assets and the safety of the water supply systems
