Md. Azizur Rahman

Research Officer (Technical/Research)

Md. Azizur Rahman is a Research Officer at ITN-BUET. He received B.Sc degree in Civil Engineering from RUET in 2009 and M. Sc degree in Civil (Environmental) Engineering from BUET in 2014. At ITN-BUET, his work focuses on research, capacity building and policy aspects related to WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene). He is also a Member of IEB.

Md. Habibur Rahman

Assistant Director

Md. Habibur Rahman completed BBA (Honours) and MBA degree under the Faculty of Business Administration at University of Chittagong and completed certified Chartered Accountancy course under ICAB and has more than 12 years of experience in the various projects Financial Management & Analysis. His areas of interest and expertise include the development of sustainable business strategy, development of the strategic business plan, survey data management and analysis, statistical presentation, entrepreneurship development, PRA Process and report writing.

M. Abdul Alim

Alauddin Ahmed

Project Manager

As an environmental engineer brings on board more than 20 years of experience in the WASH sector with specialized work experience in safely managed water supply and sanitation. He, as a development professional, constantly supports government entities on WASH development projects, research, policy advocacy, and curricula development. For a long period, he served the WHO in managing large-scale projects, targeting the poor and vulnerable population in the geographically and technically challenged contexts of Bangladesh. He also worked on humanitarian and emergency response. At present, as a Project Manager of ITN-BUET, he is serving the sector with capacity-building initiatives on CWIS and FSM.

Kazi Amin

Knowledge Management Specialist

Kazi Amin is currently working as a Knowledge Management Specialist at ITN-BUET, with over seven years of experience in the development sector, and more than six years in research and consultancy. He received both his BSc and MSc degrees in Applied Statistics from the University of Dhaka and MSc in Environmental Science and Management from North South University. Prior to joining ITN-BUET, he worked with WaterAid Bangladesh and Practical Action, contributing to a range of initiatives aimed at improving urban sanitation systems, strengthening sectoral knowledge, and building capacity. His areas of expertise include Fecal Sludge Management (FSM), Citywide Inclusive Sanitation (CWIS), Capacity Building, Sanitation Safety Planning (SSP), and Shit Flow Diagram (SFD) development.

Faria Tasnim

Training Specialist

Ms. Faria Tasnim graduated with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from Khulna University of Engineering and Technology in 2018. Currently, she is actively pursuing her M.Sc in Civil and Structural Engineering at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. Her skill set encompasses conducting comprehensive feasibility studies, need assessments, environmental and social screenings, as well as specializing in the design of shelters, infrastructure, and WASH facilities with a focus on minimizing environmental hazards.

Qazi Aniqua Zahra

Project Officer

Qazi Aniqua Zahra holds a Bachelor’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from BUET and a Master’s in Urban Planning from Texas A&M University, USA. She is currently a Project Officer at ITN-BUET, bringing over eight years of experience in urban planning, data analytics, and equity assessments. A strong advocate for climate resilience and sustainable environments, she is deeply passionate about ensuring the rights of underserved and marginalized communities. By integrating equity and sustainability into her work, she strives to create lasting impacts on urban development and sanitation planning, leaving a meaningful contribution toward community betterment.

Mir Tanvir Al Biruni

Research Associate​

Mir Tanvir Al Biruni received his Bachelors and Masters degree in Civil Engineering from BUET. He served as a Postgraduate Research Fellow at ITN-BUET from December 2022 to November 2023. Currently, he is working as a research associate, responsible for participating in project-based research, supervising fieldwork for data collection, and writing formally for publication. His research interests include solid waste management, wastewater treatment, sustainable construction materials, WASH facility evaluation, etc.
