ITN-BUET organized a training program on irrigation water analysis and application of spectrophotometer for BADC laboratory personnel through this project. ITN-BUET developed the specialized training course module and undertook a nine (9)-days long training program for chemists and laboratory technicians during May 31 to June 8, 2003. Training modules were developed and delivered on 9 different topics including Sample collection, Preservation/ Storage and Transportation; Analysis and Interpretation of test results of Water Samples; Principle and operation of Spectrophotometer; Irrigation Water Quality Parameters and Criteria; Chemical Analysis of irrigation sensitive Water Quality Parameters; Geo-chemistry and Arsenic Contamination in Groundwater of Bangladesh; Laboratory and field determination of Arsenic in water; Bacteriological quality of Water; Drinking and irrigation Water Quality Standards.
