Study on WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) Challenges in Slum areas of Dhaka City

People living in slums are often unaware of the ill effects of unsafe water, unhygienic latrines, and improper disposal of solid wastes and consequently suffer from diseases and burdens of health care costs. The study aimed to analyze the current scenario of WASH services in four slums in Dhaka city in different contexts, including slums in govt. land, railway side, private lands, and established slums. The study identified the causes of such WASH situations in slums. The study gives a clear understanding of WASH challenges in studied slum areas in Dhaka City.
