GSGS South and South East Asia (SSEA) Hub Partners in Nepal have formally renewed their commitment to the GSGS program. Separate MoUs have been signed between the SSEA Regional hub and ENPHO (as supporting partner) and Kathmandu University (as academic partner).

WASH professionals from multiple organizations joined an exposure visit to Faridpur Municipality, a CWIS Mentor City, to gain hands-on lessons on Fecal Sludge Management (FSM).

In a concerted effort to enhance professional capacity in urban sanitation, ITN-BUET organized a three-day training program titled “Training and Experiential Learning on Fecal Sludge Management in Cities: An Element of Citywide Inclusive Sanitation (CWIS)” from May 18 to 20, 2025.

On May 12, 2025, a team of 11 ITN-BUET representatives, led by its Director, Prof. Dr. Rowshan Mamtaz, visited the Dasherkandi Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) in Dhaka—the largest sewage treatment facility in South Asia operated by Dhaka WASA to explore the system and discuss collaborative action for sustainability.

To orient graduates with insights into career opportunities, sectoral challenges, and emerging research areas, ITN-BUET organized an orientation for BUET graduates on Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) on April 26, 2025.

ITN-BUET highlighted its role and services including the leadership in capacity building, knowledge generation, and youth promotion in the UAP Career Fair 2025.

ITN-BUET successfully conducted a dynamic capacity-building training workshop titled “Mobile Data Collection and Online Monitoring Using KoBoToolbox”. The event was held from April 19 to 21, 2025, at the ITN-BUET Seminar Room.

A Strategic Partnership Agreement (SPA) was formalized between the International Training Network Centre of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (ITN-BUET) and the Center for Smart Infrastructure.

ICDDR,B and ITN-BUET attended the 2nd international workshop on the “Promoting Evidence-Based Investments in Hygiene and Sanitation for Health and Equity (PROMISE)” Project, which took place from 7-11 April 2025 in Accra, Ghana.
