The overall objective of the proposed project was to enhance the capacity of formal FSM service providers in 10 urban centers of Bangladesh to ensure the sustainability of their services. WSUP Bangladesh intended to support Department of Public Health Engineering (DPHE) at the Local Government Division (LGD) of Bangladesh in enhancing the capacity of formal fecal sludge management (FSM) service providers in urban centers of Bangladesh through the preparation of a database for existing formal FSM service providers.

  • Development a flexible checklist similar to semi structured questionnaire for collection of field data and subsequent information collection;
  • Development of an updatable and digital database in Microsoft Excel of FSM service providers;
  • Development and finalization of criteria for evaluation with ranking scale;
  • Evaluation of the service providers against the criteria used in evaluation;
  • Preparation of list of the 10 most eligible service providers for receiving capacity building support
