A partnership agreement was formalized between the International Training Network Centre of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (ITN-BUET) and Dushtha Shasthya Kendra (DSK) to strengthen Bangladesh’s Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) sector on December 4, 2024.

ITN-BUET organized a comprehensive learning visit to Sakhipur, Tangail on December 3, 2024. In the learning visit, a total of 26 including 14 female post-graduate students from the Department of Civil Engineering at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) participated.

ITN-BUET conducted a three-day training on Climate-Resilient Sanitation Safety Planning (CR-SSP) to enhance the capabilities of sanitation professionals in managing resilient and safe sanitation systems in the face of climate change.

ITN-BUET and SNV have published a Bangla Booklet focusing on laws and policies related to sanitation, Fecal Sludge Management (FSM), Solid Waste Management (SWM), drainage and grey water management.

The five-day intensive technical training on Integrated Municipal Information System (IMIS) Development and Deployment, held from November 23 to November 27, 2024, at the ITN-BUET Seminar Room in Dhaka, marked a significant milestone in strengthening public data systems for sanitation in Bangladesh.

Water & Sanitation for the Urban Poor (WSUP) and the International Training Network of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (ITN-BUET) have signed a Strategic Partnership Agreement (SPA) to enhance urban sanitation efforts across Bangladesh.

ITN-BUET organized a research dissemination event on 19 November 2024 showcasing two  projects exploring the prospective utilization of medical waste incineration ash and sewage sludge ash for artificial aggregate preparation and sustainable upgradation of sanitation workers’ living conditions.

Access to water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) is vital for public health, requiring skilled professionals. To prepare graduates, ITN-BUET hosted the “Orientation for Engineering Graduates on WASH” on November 16, 2024, highlighting career opportunities, WASH challenges, and sustainable solutions.

FSM Network organized the Review Workshop & Annual Global Meeting during November 6th – 7th in Dera Resort, Manikganj. As a founding member ITN-BUET provided technical assistance in holding the event.

Recognizing the critical role of sustainable service and business models in Fecal sludge management (FSM), ITN-BUET, in partnership with the CWIS-FSM Support Cell, DPHE, organized a two-day long training for municipal officials on 3-4 November 2024.
