FSM Network organized the Review Workshop & Annual Global Meeting during November 6th – 7th in Dera Resort, Manikganj. As a founding member ITN-BUET provided technical assistance in holding the event.

Recognizing the critical role of sustainable service and business models in Fecal sludge management (FSM), ITN-BUET, in partnership with the CWIS-FSM Support Cell, DPHE, organized a two-day long training for municipal officials on 3-4 November 2024.

ITN-BUET received two prestigious awards for its research on sanitation workers at the 2024 UNC Water & Health Conference, held in the USA. Organized by UNC’s Water Institute, the conference united global WASH professionals to promote universal access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene.

ITN-BUET has showcased Bangladesh’s water and sanitation initiatives at the UNC Water & Health Conference held during 14 to 18 October 2024. The UNC Water and Health conference is organized by the Water Institute at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC), USA every year.

Citywide Inclusive Sanitation (CWIS) is essential for enhancing public health, protecting the environment, and improving quality of life. With support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, ITN-BUET has been providing technical assistance to six municipalities in Bangladesh.

ITN-BUET, in collaboration with icddr,b, held a workshop on 18 September 2024 to introduce the SaniPath Exposure Assessment Tool, developed by Emory University, for assessing health risks from inadequate sanitation.

Effective planning and designing of a Faecal Sludge Treatment Plant (FSTP) are essential for sustainable and safely managed sanitation. To address these needs, ITN-BUET conducted a three-day training workshop on FSTP planning and designing from 3 to 5 September 2024.

The 10th International Conference on Engineering for Waste and Biomass Valorisation, known as WasteEng2024, took place from 20-23 August 2024, at Tohoku University’s Kawauchi Campus in Sendai, Japan.

International Water Association (IWA) organised ‘World Water Congress & Exhibition’ on 11-15 August 2024 in Toronto, Canada, to bring together stakeholders and key contacts within the conventional water sector and beyond.

Water Integrity Network (WIN), the Eastern and Southern Africa Water and Sanitation Regulators Association (ESAWAS), and ITN-BUET jointly organised a two-day knowledge session on “Integrity and Regulation in Citywide Inclusive Sanitation (CWIS).” The event was held from July 31 to August 1, 2024, at the Lemigo Hotel of Kigali in Rwanda.
